Introduction to Gracchi

My name is Henry and I run the blog Westminster Wisdom. I'm interested in politics and the way that politicians operate- but not in a narrow way. I find human beings fascinating and that's why I'm interested in politics, which is the study of human beings gathered together as a collective. I'm interested in the pasts of those collectives- which is why I have studied history for years and years and attempted to get into the minds of people in the past. Its also why I'm interested in art- particularly films and literature. Both offer a window into the way that people operate. Watching say a film by Ingmar Bergman or Robert Bresson you get a sense of the way that people operate, and also the ideas that have inspired people. Literature in similar ways sketches out approaches to the way that we understand people. Philosophy allows us to draw these insights into a framework and the natural sciences grasp for me the way that that framework operates in the natural world. To be truthful I find almost any area of human thought interesting- and have many elevated pursuits, I support Leeds United football club, love comedy like Yes Minister, Jon Stewart, Monty Python and Blackadder. Musicians I like include people as different as Tom Lehrer, The Decemberists, Carole King and Nina Simone and quite a lot of classical music as well. My blog concerns most of the serious stuff I'm into, and quite a bit of the trivial as well.
